Jewish & Arabic Palermo

The Jewish community, like the Arabic one, has been a very important economical and cultural presence in Palermo city since the early Middle Age.

It was quite a big quarter in the old city centre, but unfortunately,very little has been left since Inquisition took over in Sicily during the Spanish domination.

Let’s a have a walk throughout the narrow streets, searching for the memories and for the places where, once, Jewish and Arabs lived all together in peace and in prosperity.
